The sort system actually displays a small sort box at the upper right hand corner of a product category page. This box permits you to reorganise products display, depending on it's category, by featured items, bestselling items, low to high prices, high to low prices and so on.
The implementation of the mode is through a script file containing a named list of sort boxes which is returned to the product browse page as per the product category being displayed.
Having work with ASM2 for quiet some times now, and after more than a couple of niche product stores, we found that these additional sort boxes to be an interesting asset to add to the inventory of sort boxes already scripted for.
Not having an appropriate sort box for your product categery will return you this message:

Software Video Games is an interesting sub-category of VideoGames where the product are listed by type (Adventure, Fighting, Racing & Flying, Role-Playing, Action..) rather than by system (Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Mac Games, Nintendo DS..).
For those who finds these additional sort modes complementary for your existing or projected product sites, just copy them over to the script/nodes/sort.inc file.
